Works after you move one wire to correct location for 82 magna v45
Wire color code is not right for 1982 Honda V45 Magna. I just got one of these. The original switch has Black, Red, brown, brown/white and brown with middle below red has empty spot. The new switch 40-15840 has red/black, red, brown, brown/white and blue/orange they leave the empty spot below one of the corners rather than middle spot below red. Replacement switch
Good product, easy install. Only issue is that the top of the cylinder is 1/4 inch longer tban OEM switch. It still works fine, just not a flush moumt like tje originalBestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

ignition switch
The only thing that I found bad about the switch was that it does not have the same locking functions the OE switch has. The OE has function to lock steering and have running lights on, this switch does not have that and it does not tell that in description of switch. ThanksBestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

Works great after minor modification
Switch worked great on my 82 Honda v45 magna after swapping a wire. I already forgot which one. I compared it to the stock plug on the bike end and moved the wire/pin on the key end from where it was connecting to nothing to where it should go. I'm pretty sure it was a corner wire moved to the middle or maybe the other way around. Anyway, it works so whatever. Fits just as well as the stock one didBestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

Direct fit. Works great.
Easy to change once you get to the bolts that hold it on. Nightmare of wires have to be unplugged to get to it. Works very smoothly. Wire harness could be a foot shorter for my 1983 V65 installation, but I just cut them to length and fit.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

Wires to long
The switch is great however the wires are way to long. All of the extra wire makes it almost impossible to close the plastic box that all of the wires are bundled in. It’s twice as long as it needs to beBestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu
