Better than TuboTax!
I've used H&R Block's tax software for years because it is thorough and very easy to use. The interview covers everything and uses very clear and unambiguous language. I tried TurboTax one year just to see what I was missing. Not only was it considerably more expensive but there were 2 parts of the interview that left me scratching my head because of the confusing way the question was worded. Great Tax Software
I've been using H & R Block tax software, formerly known by another name, for years and have been extremely happy with the product. It couldn't be easier to simply follow the step-by-step instructions. With all the helpful information that is also provided, I don't think anyone can go wrong. We use the premium version because we have rental property and one of us is self employed. You can very seamlessly download your financial information and employment documentation from most national institutions. It is a puzzle to me why anyone would pay an accountant to do their taxes when the only skill needed to do your own return is the ability to read and follow directions! You must gather all the forms necessary to present to the tax 'professional', so why can't you just key in this same information on the affordable software and save yourself hundreds of dollars? Great Tax Prep Program - Covers All The Bases
H&R Block Tax Software has been my go to software for 22 years, since back when it was Kiplinger's TaxCut. The ability to import data from last years program, 1099's and bank statements makes quick work of otherwise tedious entries. The step by step interview process ensures I don't forget anything and speeds my refunds(if any) from the feds and the state. With diversified income like rental properties, a small internet business, social security and pension incomes this program keeps current on all the tax code changes that may potentially affect our family finances. Been my favorite tax software for years!
It has been my software of choice for several years, and it does a great job. In past years, I have had to call support for advice and clarification of some detailed tax procedures relating to filing amended returns and carrybacks - none of which related to the software. Helpful
I haven't completed my tax return yet. But the stumbling blocks I've run into I've been able to get help through support by phone. There are lots of explanations as you move through the tax return process so I feel supported there. This is my first time using tax software so I have nothing to compare it to.
