Hachi, a dog's tale
There are some movies you rent, and some you want to own. This one is a heart felt story that our family has seen more than once, and are glad to own, but still brings a lot tears because of it's sad ending that is based on a true story. It certainly has a few lessons such as loyalty, and some tough realities of life. So I wouldn't recommend it for kids that are to young understand death and loss. I like finding DVD's that we want to own on Ebay, because I usually find one at a decent price.

Hachi makes it to a movie
Dramatic movie based on a true story. Details in it may resemble that of the account on its true story in a remote condition. This movie was made for entertainment rather than as a documentary or to retell a story. The roles on this movie were appropriately employed. The loyalty from the dog was the best part of the movie from beginning to end.

Wonderful
We've watched this video many times - it's great every time. We had three Akita's that looked just like Hachi - makes it all the more poignant. I also have the Japanese version of this story. It's also excellent, but I think this one is actually better.

A great movie
My husband and I loved the movie. I seen it mean Year's ago cryed then and we both cried again after we watch it. The movie was great and got it little of no time.. would bye from this person again

Richard gere hachi the dogs tale
Loved this movie..i hope everbody gets a chance to watch the movie. A must see
This is the most touching movie I have seen in a long time about faithfulness and love of your best friend Your Dog. The love Hachi has for his owner is true and unbelievable. That’s True Love. And a True Story is what makes it so special . I would definitely recommend it. Warning Tear jerker.

A Dog's Gift of Unconditional Love
A beautifully done tale of how a dog's devotion and love can produce miracles of the spirit. I did laugh and I cried as well because movie painted a very clear picture of our dogs' devotion in the face of loss. This movie is a lesson for all of us who have pets and maybe just don't understand the kind of unconditional love and devotion they bring to us as gifts for learning and loving. We can learn much from our animal and bird friends and this lovely movie is a must watch over and over.

Great movie for individual or family viewing
Based on true story redone using American actors. Original story took place in Japan years ago but brought to screen with Richard Gere and Joan Allen who does a fine job and the Dog story of Hachi will tug at your heart strings. Highly recommend!

Three or Four Hankies Recommended
Based on a true story this gentle, family-friendly tale will give the tear ducts a good workout. No car chases, no F-bombs, no wisecracking snarky little kids, no glitzy special effects, it's just a good story sympathetically told. The only downside that kept this from getting five stars was the dreary piano background music which sounded like a very depressed pianist noodling around on the instrument while the ice melted in his drink...

Heartwarming story
My wife and I are dog owners and I really thought this was going to be one of those tear jerkers that would leave you all depressed and sad. Not at all - oh, sure it had its elements of sadness. But it turned out to be a story of love and devotion between a dog and its owner. I heartily recommend it.
