First on the bill is the 1990 opus JOHN WAYNE: AMERICAN HERO, not a documentary per se but a montage of action-packed adventure scenes and adrenaline-fueled moments in 24 of Wayne's most beloved films. Features in the set include: the 1935 DAWN RIDER , with Wayne seeking revenge against the bandits who shot his father; the same year's TEXAS TERROR, with Wayne as a grief-ridden lawman struggling with the death of his friend, for which he believes he was responsible; THE TRAIL BEYOND (1934) with Wayne as a man who sets out to track down his buddy's brother and nice; MCLINTOCK!
