A sweetheart of a lens
If you have only one lens, make it this one. Extremely versatile: slightly wide angle to almost-portrait length. Typical excellent Nikkor visual quality; housing is near-bulletproof. Even better than the exemplary quality we expect from Nikon. This has been my preferred lens since 1978.

Nikkor Manual focus 43~86 AI lens
This is one of Nikon's sharpest lenses especially in the AI version. It's a 2X zoom from 43mm which is the ideal focal length for a 35mm camera to 86mm which is great for portraits. It is sharp at all focal lengths and has a great Bokeh at 86 for portraiture. Older Nikon zoom on Nikon D750
