I'd seen Yusef Islam's (Cat Stevens) vids on youtube and I was intrigued. I'd never been a hard core fan of his work in the '70s but I always liked him. What a pleasant surprise this CD was to me. I'm not Muslim, but I wanted to know how his years within Islam hds affected him. He projects a really wonderful spirit on this album and the songs are as good as anything he did back in the '70s. The originals here are the best. He does the old Animals hit Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood and while it fits the album, his own songs are more penetrating. Maybe There's A World; One Day At A Time; I Think I See The Light; and The Beloved hit me right away, but the others continue to grow on me. I've purchased a 2nd CD of his and intend to get the others he's made since coming back to making music. Fine, fine stuff. Highly recommended.
For all of us that loved his music as Cat Stevens, you will always love his music. Still music for the soul. His voice more mature, lyrics and music great.
