This had bent plastic needle support inwards. It wasn't sticking out proud of surround so wouldn't have reached record groove! Panic over when clipped into cartridge it was pushed out to correct position. In time the plastic should 'learn' position. Looking forward to playing my parents 78rpm collection.

So don't worry if the stylus seems sunken into its housing in the packaging - it's fine once fitted.
