    I had higher expectations.

    I received working device in excellent condition, but unfortunately it's not suitable for me. E.g. 288p signal from PSX console is not decoded at all. It has problems with sync on VCR signal when overlay is being displayed, fortunately it works excellent when pure video is played back. Sometimes device it's not present in software and and reconnection is required. Additionally it is not possible to check FW version and manually update it. I understand that this device is obsolete, but I expected more from company which deals with professional Audio-Video systems. Anyway the device is working and video quality seems to be good, so I can recommend it to people who have less exotic requirements than me.

    Small, lightweight and reliable

    The Intensity Thunderbolt Shuttle is quite reliable for people like me who are not prepared to ditch our video equipment every time something new comes along. In my case, it interfaces my HD camcorder to my laptop for streaming without any problems. I'd recommend this for and video producer working on a small budget.

    Great device, but not UVC compliant, doesn't work for video conferencing apps

    This is a very well-made, surprisingly small (pencil case size) video I/O device that hooks up and is powered using Thunderbolt 2. It's got HDMI, composite, RGB and S-Video inputs and outputs on both sides. The big caveat is that this doesn't show up as a universal input device - it doesn't support UVC aka USB Video Device Class - it only works with select applications that incorporate its proprietary SDK, such as DaVinci Resolve (a license is included), Final Cut, and so on. As the name implies, it's really a device for bulk digitizing footage from HDMI or analog sources. While the hardware is fine, what was misleading was Blackmagic's marketing. They allude to it being usable for streaming using software like OBS, but while I could add the device to OBS, the video stream refused to ...
