VERY PLEASED W/PURCHASE - SO HAPPY TO HAVE THIS RARE MOVIE IN MY COLLECTION.
3/9/21 I'm posting a NEW review bc in Jan/Feb I had to buy so many DVDs & amongst the pile I inadvertently confused THIS classic DVD with a totally different one from the same era, & my original review is totally wrong. ~~~ NMF is one of my favorite movies of all time & I never get tired of watching a well-told story. For the century & decade in which the script was written, the accuracy of the traits of a psycho-sociopath is outstanding. Movies were much more subtle then, but Robert Montgomery's portrayal of a cunning, yet congenial, serial killer will make your flesh crawl. ~~ This previously owned DVD - both disc & case - were in PRISTINE condition. No scratches, smudges, fingerprints on the DVD & no marks on the case. ~~ OVERALL, VERY PLEASED WITH PURCHASE & AM SO HAPPY TO HAVE THIS RARE MOVIE IN MY COLLECTION.

Classic Thriller Becomes Equally Classic Movie
This is a great movie version of the Emlyn Williams play. Robert Montgomery (yes, Elizabeth's father) gives a chilling portrayal of Danny, a charismatic, potentially dangerous man. Dame May Whitty (of the original stage production) is marvelous as the eccentric head of the household, and Rosalind Russell is fascinating as the woman who suspects that there's more to Danny than meets the eye. The film was remade in 1964 with Albert Finney, but this one is the best version. Beautiful, remastered print of the film with great picture and sound quality.

Great older movie
I was very happy to find this product. I had been looking for it because one of the lead actors was the father of Elizabeth Mongomery who starred i the TV shows "Bewitched" and I wanted to see how acting ran in the family. Great movie. The DVD played perfectly.

A Great Early film
This film was way ahead of it's time in it's portrayal of a polished, devious, cunning serial killer. This film is neither dated nor stodgy, it's edgy, fast-paced and authentic, from beginning to end. Creepy stuff ☆☆☆☆☆
