Product Information

This melodramatic, intelligent action film, which provides a complex look at the fall of British colonialism in Africa, stars Richard Attenborough as a by-the-books sergeant in a British colony. He is in charge of transferring authority to new leadership in the newly independent colony, but when African officer Lt. Boniface (Errol John) instigates a rebellion, the previously immovable Sergeant is forced to examine his own rigid beliefs.

Guns At Batasi is a real blast.
First i like the letterbox version which shows everything intended by the original producers. It's an excellent value for those who like a historical context for action flicks. The film is a character study and shows some of the psychological motivations of the key players. Action is intelligently woven into the plot. It has romance also . . . something for almost everyone. Black and white is no obstacle to enjoyment in this case.
