When straitlaced, yuppified G-man John Buckner (Kiefer Sutherland) is assigned to escort ex-60's hippie radical Huey Walker (Dennis Hopper) to the federal pen for past crimes, the agent finds that the old burnout is a little more cagey than he counted on. Walker gets Buckner intoxicated and steals his identification, landing the FBI agent in jail instead of Walker. Hopper and Sutherland lampoon the differences between the idealistic 60s and the money-grubbing 80s in this 1990 action comedy.

Far Out!
Brought back great memories. Dennis Hopper was made for this role. Kiefer Sutherland was a natural. Carol Kane played her part perfectly........and the songs are great. They take you back, and for those who unfortunately didn’t live in that era,,,,,,come join us.

Ex hippie radical gets chased by ex hippie baby - now FBI agent. Twists &turns happen while the Fed comes to terms with his upbringing.
I loved this movie when I was younger, can't wait to see it again.

Flashback...to now
I truly feel this movie speaks to many generations on many levels. While we don’t want to become our parents, we are molded by them, for better or worse. We scorn them, we rebel against their ways and beliefs, we deny them, and if we are fortunate, morph into the best of them and our younger selves. A movie for rebels, of the past, the present and the future.
