An amazing way to learn how jet engines work!
As a federally certificated Airframe & Powerplant technician of over 30 years, I worked on C-130 Hercules aircraft, specifically, the engines and props. I have intimate knowledge of the engine, prop, and all systems pertaining to the Allison T-56/501 engine and I can say with authority that this model is an amazing teaching tool for anyone wanting to understand how jet engines work, as well as the reduction gearbox, which turns the high rpm of the engine into useful torque to turn the prop. The model is very well engineered to show exactly how these systems function, and the fact that it can turn by hand (or with an electric motor, if one wishes to connect it to one) completes the picture. With sections that open to reveal the turbine discs and blades, burner cans, and compressor discs and blades, as well as the gears in the reduction gearbox, the model shows exactly how the real thing functions. The moveable pitch of the prop blades is a great bonus, which shows how the engine power is used by the propeller, to provide thrust for flight. All in all, an excellent model and marvelous teaching tool. I highly recommend this wonderful model!

Great product!
This is a very detailed and FUNCTIONAL model! Beautifully done and a great piece when assembled. The only issue was slightly poor molding leaving "webbing" around some smaller molded pieces requiring clean up. Hence, only 4 stars. Otherwise, GREAT model!

GREAT product, very educational.
Fantastic details, I worked on these in the COAST GUARD C130s, engine tear downs, turbine rebuilds etc. This is the best model I have seen in years, very well detailed and accurate. Makes me feel at home. Just like engine tear down and rebuild.

Nice model with great history
This is a great model and was great to build. It is an exact replica of the original Revell model made years ago. The model comes already molded in 4 different colors so there is no painting required.

Challenging
Well made, directions clear, but pay attention. Fitting all parts CORRECTLY can be a bit challenging. Three colors look good too.

Bought it for Memories
Seems to be great but I haven't opened the box yet. A lot of us modelers buy a kit and leave it unopened for value increase over time. I will open and build it fairly soon as it is a model of the Allison engine that powered the C-130 Hercules aircraft I flew for twenty years in the Air Force. We called it the T56
