Works great
I received the GPS in the condition as described by the seller. Works great.....I prefer it to my 530 I was using.....I've reached the age where fine print is getting a little harder to see and wanted the 7" screen. I've had the 510, 520 and 530 and this 740 works better......so far no bugs. I do big loads of LTL across north America and this thing makes it easy !! Love the updating over WiFi....no more needing to plug it into a computer.

The TND 740 is Rand McNally's best. An excellent, intuitive and user friendly device. I'm just happy I can still find refurbished units.

Just as crappy as the Garmin but for different reasons.
Had this for about a month so far. Had to reset it once for freezing. Had to switch to the classic view for not seeing well with the new stealthy styled dark background, ooooo! Maybe its good for night time. Had to put double sided tape on the mount so it would stop popping off. Everyone was right, the mount is total trash. Total shame on Rand for that. The routing is slightly better than the Garmin. My Garmin crapped out after 3 months and had to send it for repair. Havent had this one as long but if the Garmin was reliable, I’d take it over the Rand, even though the Garmin routing was often horrible, it was easier to use, stayed on the mount and gave much better warning on turn by turn. Theyre both overpriced pieces of garbage. Id recommend trying whoever makes the third choice for Truck GPS. I dont think you could do any worse.

Trucker GPS TND740
My hammer is very happy. Its hanging a lil to the right.. lol Thanks for the trucker gps. Rand McNally TND740. This is better than my TND720. Go figure. Everything works, have to buy a new memory card tho. Hope the reception is as good or better, im glad it does updates via wifi. Cool.. It was as stated, pictured and a good deal. Thanks again.. happy holidays my friend

The best GPS out there for truckers I have been using Rand Mcnally GPS for long time and I love it basically it does half of my work for me to find TRK stop rest aria Walmart TRK Servic and much more in matter of seconds

TND 740 Not meets my expectations
My previous RM TND 720 is no longer update maps and current time/date then I bought this TND 740 does update new maps and shows current time correctly but choose the route isn’t the best and sometimes it way off. Screen also is not bright enough. RM was my very first GPS when I start driving almost ten years ago but quality is getting worse every year.

Nice but should have left some things alone
I wish they left some of the buttons in the same place like my TND520! The speed is moved down the bottom where you don't look. The turn by turn was moved also, it was nice where it was and more convenient! All in all a nice GPS though!!

Great GPS
The Rand Mcnally 740 is really super for my truck driving.. Easy to use, and very accurate My only complaints although minor are the volume isnt quite loud enough and not crazy about the mount between the back of the unit and windshield mount

Needs work
Not as easy to use as last model, Read out was better too. Why did you change it ? Updates are easier to get though.

I Like the map update's without computer involvement,...touch-screen is modern ( LIKE A SMART PHONE TOUCH-SCREEN),...using a hotspot BRING'S THE 740 ALIVE,...YES,IT IS ALIVE💓
