Revered blues man Muddy Waters traveled to London at the behest of Chess Records to combine his American blues style with the "local" artists of England and Ireland. The results are truly incredible: Waters is at home in the London studio with the likes of Rory Gallagher, Mitch Mitchell and more, and the combination won the team a Grammy for the second time in Waters's career.

Why did I wait so long?
About the time it came out, I heard the Howlin' Wolf London sessions. This lp set me on my ear. It is still in my top ten recordings. ( the only Clapton in there) Based on this I grabbed the London Bo Diddly sessions. What a let down. So, I never heard or went for the Muddy Waters version. Checking out Rory Gallagher, more closely, he is with Muddy here. That turned the tide. In a way it is a good thing this took so long to get on my ear, because I am, now, a better listener.
