A brilliant TV series, and the model for the later James Bond movies. A must see!!
The writing, casting, direction, locations, and acting of "Danger Man" ("Secret Agent" in the U.S.) were superb. McGoohan later went on to star in movies and to write, direct, and costar in a number of "Columbo" TV episodes. Many of McGoohan's directors, writers, and costars in "Danger Man" were either then or later famous in their own right, including such as Honor Blackman. Peter Yates, of course, went on to direct "Bullet" (starring Steve McQueen) and "Breaking Away," which earned rave reviews. Ian Fleming was brought in to collaborate on series development, but left before development was complete. Two years later, Fleming assisted in the pre-production on the 1964 TV series, "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." as well as the Eon Productions series of James Bond films. Many of the conventions of Danger Man were used in the Bond films, especially the use of special gadgets and electronic devices. If you enjoy excellent writing and acting, this series is a must. It's available in re-runs on rabbit-ears TV, but having the entire series on DVDs lets me see the episodes on days and at times that are convenient for me.

Never saw this complete series as a youth except for a few episodes, I got caught up in The Avengers and the James Bond 007 movies instead. But I was fascinated by McGoohan's subsequent series THE PRISONER. After now seeing this earlier production I am of the opinion Number 6 is indeed John Drake! So glad I finally found it.

Haven't viewed every episode, but good sound quality so far, good picture quality, and great to know I can watch any episode whenever I want.
