    Great Hobby Bench Multimedia

    This multimedia is a good addition to a hobby work bench. It has basic features but very good for the price. Seems I will have to open the case and adjust as it is off by a tenth of a volt. This tool is much easier to use on the bench than a hand-held unit.

    Nice function generator for lower frequency work.

    Good function generator, starts getting distorted toward the upper end of the frequency range. The user manual even lists this fact. Download the manual and see if it is suitable for your needs. It is a good value for the eBay price. It will do well for my needs, nice built in frequency counter that can be switched for external measurements.

    Like a Fluke, Only Better

    This meter is laid out almost identical to the popular Fluke 8010, 8050, etc. What makes this meter a better choice is that it has a bright LED display which is much easier to read than the Fluke's LCD which is hard to read at times. Also, the GW Instek has the very handy continuity beeper for quick continuity checks without having to look up at the meter each time. The GW's buttons are also a bit larger and faster to access than on the Flukes. Flukes are great meters of course, but I find the GW Instek just as reliable, easier to read and faster to operate. Sorry, Fluke.

    Not bad

    A little light on range, and it's obviously not auto ranging. A decent hand held unit can beat this in some features. However, having a bench meter with rediculously high amperage and voltage ratings is nice. It's very accurate (as compared to my Fluke 87 V). The lower counts mean it's not as precise as some unit.

    Instek Function generator

    As the my ratings indicate, this is a good product at a good value cost. The unit works well and it is cosmetically good. There is a little more drift than I would like but for what I paid, it is a good buy. A new unit would cost about 3 times what I paid. It didn't come with any cables (power & signal input). Luckily, I have access to hundreds of power cables and I just happened to have a signal cable. In summary; I like to buy things like this that work and are a fraction of the new cost.
