I WAS THERE AT THE ALVIN
I am VERY partial. I was one of the original stage managers on the original production. I haven't heard the music performed in over 50, years. While it's hard to try to compare this recording to the original cast, and they didn't have a director advising them, it still brought back such fond memories. We were supposed to record the album for RCA, but considering what was happening to the show in the theatre, it was deemed good business to not make the recording. But yes, there was a tape made from someone sitting in the first row, right next to the drums. Dolores is the only one you can really hear. I've had it for years and I have not played it in many years. I have no idea if it is even listenable, it was on a cassette and would it be even playable, I don't know.
