    Much lighter than I thought it would be, but not a bad thing. I haven't had a chance to use it yet, but it seems of high quality; appears to be very well-made and I like how the handle is attached to the blade. Two screws and they're apart. All 4 forward edges are somewhat sharpened, with one a bit sharper than the other 3. I don't think a knife-edge is needed; I think it would be a bit awkward in handling if trying to use the tool as a knife.

    Nice shovel

    I purchased the Cold Steel Spetsnaz Shovel because of Cold Steel's of the company's reputation and my past experience with their products. The shovel, just like all of their products, is a real usable camp shovel, not some big box store's imitation of one. It is VERY solid feeling. The shovel head is sturdy and should hold up to a lifetime of use, if properly maintained. The handle is solid as a rock...if it breaks, then you did something wrong. Like all of Cold Steel's products, it is a very solid, usable, ready to work tool. It is priced a little higher than some of their competitors, but this is definitely a "You get what you pay for" situations. It is also tiny but mighty. It is small enough, and light enough, to be easy to carry, but big enough to be usable. The handle is the perfect ...

    Great tool

    I had one a few years back then sold it. Dumb move. This is a great shovel, ax, knife, frying pan and self defense tool. In the meantime I picked up an original Soviet spetnaz shovel... The cold steel version is better. Heavier, stronger steel to start with. Sharper edge. Thicker handle, which is also easily removed for cleaning, using as a short handled tool or to be put on a longer shaft. Check out the youtube videos people have made. It also makes a fun throwing ax. Perfectly balanced. Suppose you could even hunt with it in a pinch. It's not as versatile as an old 1945 entrenching tool but it never loosens up when using it and it looks seriously intimidating. However you aren't going to get arrested for having a little shovel in your car as opposed to a big hunting knife...another ...

    Infantry combination tool !

    MOS combination tool for many things awesome tool to dig cut, chop and move dirt. Can be used as self defense weapon. can be thrown as hatchet or axe has good weight for throwing or choping. better than those I have lugged around the world in the USMC. Dont leave home without it!

    High quality, good long service, probably stolen, worth the risk.

    Bought my first 15-20+ years ago, use on dog walks to clean up after my dogs, nice, compact, very sturdy, saves on bending down holds edge well for cutting through roots. Can't see how I may have lost it, strongly suspect it was stolen, can see why. I bought two this time.

    Light weight the perfect size . I love the fact that it's held together with 2 big screws . It comes sharpened from the factory . Overal I give it an excellent review
