Very warm, as far as wearing on a cool fall night (which was when I tried it on). Size-wize, I could go for an M, but ordered an XL for a long, extra-draping look. The belt is long, back side covered my body fully and the arms length is perfect. So if you like the look of the listing photo, I'd recommend to size-up. A very nice poncho.
