    Windows 8.1 and Windows 10

    I've been a long time supporter of Andy's publications. When my daughter got me the replacement laptop, it had Windows 8.1. The VERY FIRST thing I did was get on-line and order Andy's Book For Dummies 8.1. I got about a week into it and not being the senior computer guy that I am not, Windows 10 is also here so spend the energy and get Windows For Dummies 10 which I ordered and now also have. I haven't downloaded 10 yet but my external hard drive for backup will be in next week and I'll do the transfer. Wouldn't even think about doing this unless I had Andy's book by my side. Been with his publications for years throughout the transfers and the book is designed for the "non-techie" guy such as myself. I have to research one thing and that's to get the mirror image of the hard drive ...

    Useful as a refresher

    I purchased this book because I found a computer with an older operating system on it. The book reminded me of some things that I had forgotten about 8.1. It is well written and organized. I won't be using it that much but it is a good refresher.
