Rubbed it with a very fine steel wool then a bit of furniture polish and it now looks very antique. I would recommend this cane to anyone who needs some assistance and wants to get complements on your cane instead of I feel sorry for you looks. I am on the short side so I cut a couple of inches off the bottom and it fits me perfect.
