I would say that they are not as thick as the advertising suggests, and therefore not as warm as suggested. That's not to say they are bad socks, I like them, but "medium weight" would have been a more accurate description. Wearing them with lightweight shoes in 45-degree (F) weather, they're warm enough, but these would not be my go-to socks for boots in heavy snow.
