It's got that smell from the rubber seal, you know, just a little bit fishy, that only the legit ammo cans have. Well-packaged, and shipped very quickly! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I live in a dry climate, so I am not worried about things being waterproof. I did field archaeology here and had to worry about dust more than water. I put paper and maps in ammo cans from the Nam war, which I was in. We never got half of what we needed or were promised. FTA

The one I got looks great. Lid locks tightly. Bought a foam insert for it to store magazines. The quality of these cans is top-notch - the military doesn't buy junk. Happy with purchse, would/will definitely buy another. Just wanted to buy one first to see how good they are. It was a good deal for an M2A1 ammo can in as good of condition as these.
