The Canon EF IS USM is a small and lightweight 4x zoom lens that is a good starting point for photographers looking for a telephoto camera lens to take pictures of wildlife, sports, or other outdoor activities where some background blur is allowed or desired.     Good lens for the price

    This lens is what I expected for the price. The stated "great" condition is an exaggeration. The outer bayonet for a lens hood is unusable because of a drop. He autofocus works, but will not go all the way to infinity or close-focus. The manual focus and image stabilization work well. The zoom is smooth and does not creep.

    Good Value

    As far as I can tell so far, this item is as advertised. I find it a bit heavier and bulkier than expected but the results are good. This item is ideal for a non pro just taking family, vacation or hobby photo's. The price is fair

    One of the big 3 in my triad of Canon DSLR lenses.

    Not only is this a good value, but the fact that it has image stabilization means you can use it at lower shutter speeds (i.e. less light) and not get motion blur from not holding the camera perfectly still. You can take photos in very low light and at slow shutter speeds with this lens. This, along with the 28-70mm IS lens and the 50mm f/1.8 "plastic fantastic" are all I really need 99% of the time.

    I really like this 100mm-300mm lens

    I really like this lens and if you want to take bird or wildlife pictures this is great to have in your tool kit. I think having the stabilizer is needed for telescope lenses. I tried an older L-series lens without a stabilizer and this one with the stabilizer works better for me. It is not too heavy, takes nice pictures, and is a good value for the money. The two pictures attached where taken last week with a Canon 6D using this lens in the 300mm position. The bird and deer were about 5 to 10 feet away. It think the images quality is very good.

    Pretty good lens.

    The product arrived quickly and with no problems. The lens works well with images that are about the same as my last lens...they're just fine. No real big complaints considering the cost and type of lens.
