Reviews"Be warned: you are in the hands of a writer who asks no quarter and gives none. He will wring you dry . . . and when you close this volume he will leave you with greatest gift a writer can give: he will leave you wanting more." -- Stephen King, from his Introduction "Perhaps no author living is as responsible for chilling a generation with tantalizing nightmare visions . . . ." -- The New York Times "One of those who have moved imaginative fiction from the sidelines into the literary mainstream. May he be writing far into the twenty-first century." -- Ray Bradbury "Matheson is the master of paranoia-pitting a single man against unknown horrors and examining his every slow twist in the wind." -- San Jose Mercury News, "Be warned: you are in the hands of a writer who asks no quarter and gives none. SynopsisPersonally selected by Richard Matheson, the bestselling author of I Am Legend and What Dreams May Come , the stories in Nightmare at 20,000 feet more than demonstrate why Matheson's regarded as one of our most influential horror writers. Featuring the story "Duel," a nail-biting tale of man versus machines that inspired Steven Spielberg's first film. Remember that monster on the wing of the airplane? William Shatner saw it on The Twilight Zone, John Lithgow saw it in the movie-even Bart Simpson saw it. "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet" is just one of many classic horror stories by Richard Matheson that have insinuated themselves into our collective imagination. Here are more than twenty of Matheson's most memorable tales of fear and paranoia, including: "Prey," in which a terrified woman is stalked by a malevolent Tiki doll, as chillingly captured in yet another legendary TV moment; "Blood Son," a disturbing portrait of a strange little boy who dreams of being a vampire; "Dress of White Silk," a seductively sinister tale of evil and innocence., Remember that monster on the wing of the airplane? • a disappointing collection by a prolific author

I found it a group of 20 stories that are undistinguished and of little interest except for 2(First Anniversary and Nightmare at 20,000 Feet). However, there were 4 stories i did not read as I remembered the titles as being ones I had read before...long ago--so there may be some gold in some of these 4. Nice cover art for this t.p.b. I suggest you try other collections of his....perhaps ones not in horror vein.
