SEASON 2 - October in Dutch Harbor means only one thing: king crab season, and a chance to bring home the big bucks. With Bering Sea weather reports warning of some of the roughest conditions seen in years, a massive storm system is moving in, threatening to wreak havoc on the crabbing fl eet. With last seasons tragedy of the Big Valley still a sobering reminder of the danger the crews face every day, the captains must decide whether to shove off, or batten down the hatches and weather the intense fury of nature in their quest for a lucrative underwater jackpot. HAIRIEST MOMENTS ON THE HIGH SEAS - This DVD features the roughest and toughest moments from the hit series Deadliest Catch. From unforgiving storms to freak accidents on deck, the captains and their crews tackle each situation differently with some ending on a positive note and some in tragedy. Lessons are learnt and relationships are tested in these times of despair on the Bering Sea but the men push on to land the big crab and ultimately get rewarded. LEGEND OF THE NORTHWESTERN - At the start of the 2012 King Crab season, Captain Sig Hansen squared off with younger brother Edgar, who was trying to take over the captains chair from Sig. The fight was fueled by bad blood that had been brewing for decades, a fight that started in 1977, when father Sverre first built the infamous 125-foot F/V Northwestern. Raised in Norway, Sverre learned from his father a style of fishing that was highly successful, but brutal on the crew. Follow the Hansen family during the summer off season as they try to juggle the Northwesterns tendering operation (where Sigs daughter is a deckhand) and their own family obligations.
