Disappointed with replacement timer
I bought this to replace a Smiths timer as it is identical in size and uses the same pins to operate on off. So far so good. The Smiths unit lights up when it is on and in a dark airing cupboard this is a great help to check is all is well. Sadly this unit has a very small switch to tell you when it is on which I have to use a torch to check. There is no illumination, so it seems that technology has gone backwards. What a pity.

WISH THERE HAD BEEN A NEON ON IT!
Very nicely made timeswitch, good design regarding cable entry and routing, I was able to do a textbook installation very easily but what a disappointment to find that you don't know when it's on - because there's no neon! As the override switch is rather small too, you simply don't know if you've programmed it correctly if you're not familiar with this type of timeswitch because as you rotate the dial nothing appears to happen. So if I bought another one I'd definitely look for one with a neon indicator. Small but in my opinion very important! Alan

Old Style But Fautless
I have had these timers for years. Yes, after a considerable while some of them will get noisy as the gears wear but they are easy to view settings, change and set time periods compared to the later other versions which have plastic segments. The latter are fiddly to adjust

replacement for an old TS900. Does the job but putting two earth wire in one connector is a bit fiddle. This connector hole could be a bit bigger..

Good quality and easy to fit
Excellent, easy to fit, replaced previous model that had been fitted 10+ years ago as a timer for my porch light. Hope this one lasts as long!

Time guard

Direct replacement for the Smiths
It is good but not as good as the Smiths timer, this one superceded the Smiths, appears to be too complicated, Smiths kept theirs simple and it paid off, lasted a long time.
