This cookbook is a little pricier than I'd like to spend but the subject matter is very specific and good Asian baked good recipes are hard to find, even on the internet. This book is a gift for my son, who loves to cook and loves Asian bakery items--both sweet and savory. However, I'm looking at some of the directions and wonder if it's been proof read adequately. Once recipe for egg tarts called for pre-heating oven to 500 degrees F. I've never heard of baking any custard pie at that temperature and my common sense and cooking experience would trump her directions (but I would research other recipes as well before totally dismissing her directions.) The pictures are beautiful and the text is an interesting read.
