    Great upgrade for HP DX2400

    This was a big jump in speed from the Stock E7200 (2.53GHZ 1066FBS) Intel Chip. The only problem I have which is an HP problem is the fan speed is all out ( Full Speed ) No Bios update with the Xeon Fan speed microcontroller. So HP owners beware. This is not cause it is an Xeon Processor either it is due to it being a 1333FBS CPU. So no matter what 1333FBS CPU you buy you might have this problem.

    Intel Quad-Core Xeon X5450 3GHz/12M/1333 = Core 2 Extreme QX9650 @ 775 mod

    A great way to get a performance boost from a dated LGA775 mainboard. Runs cooler than a Core2 of equivalent performance. The processor pinout is modified by a small conductive sticker provided. Requires a steady hand and an eye for detail to perform a careful modification to the processor socket on the mainboard. Just follow the Instructions provided. Works great - very happy!

    Better than factory...

    Tired computer that is slow? These are well worth the money spent to replace a standard CPU. The speed and ability to run ten windows at a time is actually shocking for a older 775 CPU. Easy to install with minor hand tools. Pair this with 4 to 8 GB of memory and your computer will shine.

    Great product, worked as advertized, check that your board supports it.

    30% performance boost off the bat, and runs cooler than expected. Upgraded from a q6600, the q6600 ran at 40 degrees (20 above ambient) this runs at 30 above ambient. Upgraded 2 computers and a "server" worth it.

    Xeon X5460 is good upgrading for socket 775

    Nevertheless of price, in the computation of Intel Q9650 and Xeon X5460, the Q9650 is much more better because it is can be more overloaded and less overheating. However, for price of under $20.00 and default BIOS setup, the Xeon X5460 is good upgrading for socket 775.
