WHY didn't this movie get a wide release?
I saw numerous trailers for this movie prior to the proposed release date. In my area it didn't open when stated, but opened a few weeks later and disappeared quickly. For those who enjoy science fiction, I found it a thought provoking movie. To ME it was well acted and had a decent and well written plot. The story line involves an artificially created human being, a teenage girl, who's intelligence extremely high, but there are flaws in her creation which gives her superhuman characteristics that can pose a danger to anyone who interacts with her. Although she is an amazing scientific achievement, the organization that created her must wrestle with the decision of whether or not she should be "terminated". There is a moral and ethical decision to be made here, as well as emotional ties that her creators have. There are many unsettling scenes here, some are graphic. Its not a movie for kids. Critics didn't take too kindly to it, but MY feelings are that movies such as this aren't made for critics, they are made for the public. If you are one of many who missed this in theater, you can get a copy for around the cost of a movie ticket or less. That is how I ended up seeing it.
