Set in Prohibition-era New Jersey, "Boardwalk Empire: The Complete Second Season" follows Nucky Thompson, treasurer of Atlantic City, as he navigates the complexities of political and personal life. The cast of this drama includes Steve Buscemi as Nucky, Kelly Macdonald as Nucky's wife, Michael Shannon as FBI agent Van Alden, Shea Wigham as Nucky's brother Eli, and Michael Pitt as Nucky's former assistant Jimmy, among others. Although Nucky has come out on top in the 1920 election, he is now under federal investigation for vote tampering. "Boardwalk Empire: The Complete Second Season" explores the complicated alliances and relationships of the characters no matter which side of the law they fall on. The 12-episode story arc of "Boardwalk Empire: The Complete Second Season" is covered in a five-disc DVD set with bonus content that includes an interactive dossier of characters, a 15-minute recap of the first season narrated by show creator Terence Winter, and a featurette called "The Money Decade," which looks at the period of history in which the drama is set. This five-disc DVD set is rated TV-MA.

Great addictive series!
I heard this series was well done but man this truly has phenomenal actors with terrific story lines. Boardwalk Empire definitely pulls you in and now everything else I was watching is on the back burner. It isn't just good guys/bad guys. The characters are human and complicated and I am very quickly lost in the era of prohibition. Yes, there is some violence, sex, language but it has substance and too many times other films or series are forgetting the substance and in this one person's opinion enough is enough. However, it is not something I would ever recommend for anyone under 17.

Amazing show- Amazing Writing!
Amazing show- very well written-- it was written by the same 2 guys who wrote on The Sopranos- if that gives you any clue. If you love Prohibition style gangsters- Al Capone- you will love this show!

Everyone involved with this classic DVD production should be applauded. The entire cast is superb. Cheap at twice the price.
