    This item was listed as "very good" condition but it should have been listed as "like new" condition. I was very pleased to find the Bible had no writing in it, had a very clean leather cover and in fact looked like it had never been opened. The box was even in great shape on an item from 2013. The packaging could have gotten it to China and back without a scratch. It was shipped the same day as purchase. I love it and am very pleased with this seller.

    Proof of Review a quickie

    I enjoyed this book about the author's NDE (Near Death Experience). When people experience the phenomenon known as NDE they have either been revived from a cardiac arrest, or in the case of this author they had been in a coma. The author is a neurosurgeon so he is quite familiar with what goes on in the human brain. The Author Dr. Alexander before his experience was an diehard atheist, as are many scientists and doctors, so his story is not like most of the other NDE stories that preach and praise Jesus though out the book. After his experience his views on what happens to us after "death" changed drastically. I don't think he considers himself a "Christian" or "religious" but he has grown "spiritually".

    Technical but interesting (and a relatively short story). Worth buying used.

    The author writes with depth of scientific and medical knowledge, which for many people is a bit above their understanding. I'm in the medical profession so I understood most (but not all) of it, but I see how it was important for him to be clinical so people would understand that his experience was being viewed both from the human side as well as from a purely scientific side. I sensed his struggle with trying to describe his experience, which was apparently otherworldly and magnificent beyond mere human words. How would you explain to an amoeba the intricate beauty of, say, Beethoven's music and have the amoeba understand? It would be as difficult as Dr. Alexander's attempt at describing things he saw while in his coma (and having us actually understand and envision it). The human ...

    Proof of Heaven. Appropriate for NDE description of non believer.

    I was comforted by the NDE described by the author. It was consistent with another book I read, Embraced by the light that narrowed down that our existence here and there is all about LOVE if you have to come up with one word. That this was the main takeaway from both stories, years apart gives credence to an afterlife and what we are doing here while we wait to go back. That was another common thread, that we have existed before life on earth and will exist again.

    Life changing

    Everyone that wonders what happens when we die needs to read this book. It has changed my life and the way I see death..anyone grieving, read this. I had this book years ago and moved, couldnt find it anywhere, so I ordered it. I'm reading it again, it is that good.

    Sometimes God gives us a glimpse of what comes after our short life on planet earth.

    The story is compelling. A really good example that science doesn't explain everything. I am drawn to this type of book because of a personal experience at 22 years old. It will be with me always!
