Couldn't find to rent so decided to buy this dvd
We tried to rent this movie from Redbox after hearing it was good but it wasn't available within 500 miles of L.A. Buying it from Ebay was so affordable and dvd arrived within a few days. Funny movie w/some quirky characters. We've all known people whose life experience has traumatized them or mental illness/disorders have affected them deeply spilling over to their friends, family & associates, This film shows a few of those scenarios.

Sometimes disappointing events lead to new beginning in life.
The movie has powerful performances by both main characters that resulted in an Academy Award going to Jennifer Lawrence. Although strong family and love relationships are involved, I would not classify this as a romantic comedy. These are complex characters presenting real life and emotional struggles. At times it can be disturbing but ultimately the end message is rewarding.

Going long.
Read this book long ago and loved it enough that I decided to buy it to keep. I have more than a general knowledge of real places story. However, Like virtually every good book, ever, there have to be new discoveries this time around. I'm looking forward to them. Here is the same review that I left for the book, which I also ordered: "I loved the movie and the book when I first saw them years ago. Got both again at my local library recently and decided that I want them both in my personal book and DVD collections. The story is wonderful, the characters compelling and their is just the right amount of comedy included, which helps propel the story throughout."

The Chemistry of Jennifer Lawrence and Bradly Cooper
The performance by Jennifer Lawrence (Tiffany) in this movie is superb! She more than earned an Academy Award for her performance. The movie is very entertaining with a lot of chemistry, and it certainlly ranks among the best of this type, in my view! Wonderful movie and highly recommended.

Fun adult movie
A bit quirky, a bit of a sad beginning. The characters changed to be even more quirky in a very good way through the movie. Probably not one that I would watch often, but it wasn't a waste of time. It does start slow, but hang in.

Funny and engaging.
This movie has a little of everything: Love, funny, and great acting. It is a very good movie.

Probably my favorite movie.
I just love this movie so much. Clearly the writers on the team had someone with true experience of mental disorders. Its funny, it’s sappy, but not a complete chick flick. Could not have possibly been casted better. It shows what real life is. Not all butterflies and unicorns. Everyone and every family carry their own burdens, this movie shows it! Plus the sound track is awesome. Very creative choices of music.
