    YO-HO-HO AND A BOTTLE OF RUM!!! This is the iconic novel about pirates that it stands as the best example in this topic and easily one of the most adapted to other media novels in any genre. Treasure Island was a swash-buckling adventure where the stakes were high and the Gentlemen of Fortune weren't so gentle when seeking their fortune. This book was amazing. I was totally blown away by it--the wonderful adventure story filled my head to the brim with a sense of awe and excitement I can't quite explain. Reading this fabulous book makes me connect with the movie even more...The Disney movie called "Treasure Planet" instead of "Treasure Island".

    Perfect book for my pre-teen nephew.

    This classic was edited and abridged in the 1930s with illustrations of pirates and parrots and scalawags of all sort for the 'ten year old boy'. Since then the young reader edition has proved to be just as loved by each succeeding generation, sparking imaginations all over the Seven Seas
