hard plactic instead of rubber
I was very disappointed to receive hard plastic parts. I only needed the one pivot bushing, but thought the few dollars for the whole set might be worth it. The originals were soft rubber. I had to slightly trim the replacement pivot bushing to get it to fit into the tailgate, and then 1/2 of the locking tab snapped off, I think because it was not flexible enough. Once installed, it cannot come out, so the broken tab is not a problem. Once trimmed so it could be inserted, it does seem to work. If I was to need to replace the one pivot bushing again, I would head to the dealer. The two rectangular cushion ( bumper) pieces are also hard plastic, instead of rubber, so there is no cushion, like an original rubber part (which I did not need to replace) . Wasn't a good fit for me.
Hi Yall, I bought these tailgate inserts for my 2001 Dodge Ram 1500. First of all, none of the pieces fit together once they are put on the truck. Three of the four broke in attempting to put them in. So its not good quality plastic, in my opinion. Now, I want to qualify this review by saying that I tried installing them on a 20 year old truck that has been well used. It's very possible that the rectangles on the bed are not straight and the round parts on the tailgate may not be round. They looked ok to me but, I'm allowing for age and wear. So, for me these were not a good deal. I left the two round pieces in my tailgate but the rectangle pieces completely broke. If you have a newer truck they might work for you. If you want your to throw away $6 and scratch your tailgate, this is the perfect product for you
For starters, 1 piece out of the 4 almost sort of fits, other 3 don’t fit at all. I bought these in hopes of keeping my freshly painted tailgate nice but after having to remove the tailgate because it wouldn’t fit with these things installed 4 times, noticed a good sized scratch at the bottom of it. Was really hoping these would work! save your money.

Not impressed at all.
Not impressed. 2 pcs. for the internal pivots got trashed just after installation and the cup inserts had to be forced in with a rubber mallet and trimmed,but still don't fit right.
