    Excellent "budget" mic/boom stands.

    While these are not the highest quality mic/boom stands, they certainly get the job done well for "budget" mic/boom stands. An excellent value for a young start up band or performer on limited funds. If you take care of them and not throw them around carelessly, they should last a long time. A nice touch with the design is the ability to mount a microphone on top of the straight up part of the stand in addition to the Boom. That feature has come in handy for me several times. I also like the fact they the include the mic clips with the stands. While not the highest quality mic clips either, they server as a handy back up should you break one of you good ones during a gig. The one thing that I do not like that they had changed from previous versions is the height locking ...

    Price is right but stand is somewhat flimsy.

    The price was definitely good but a cheap price will often (although not always) lead to a cheaply made product. They are probably just fine for home or studio but I don't believe that would hold up to gigging on a regular basis. My biggest concern would be the abundance of plastic - especially with the plastic height adjustment latch. In fairness, the adjustable boom arm length is a plus.

    4 FOR THE PRICE OF 1

    This is a very lightweight, and somewhat flimsy design. The height adjustment is a CAM style lever that pivots on a metal pin set in 2 plastic holes, this is not road worthy. The stands come with 2 mic holders, however the threading is plastic and 1 stripped out or cross threaded. Also 1 mic clip attaches to the top of the stand and the boom is height adjustable, it’s somewhat ingenious. That being said in my home studio I can make these work for set and forget situations, such as mic a floor tom or bass drum or have an extra stand for a light condensor mic on a horn. 4 for the price of 1 makes up for their faults. I can recommend these for very light-duty use.

    Boom stands

    The Only issue I found was that I needed to add one extra washer on each ones Boom Lock Knob so that the boom didn’t sag when using a heavy mic. I also weight the bottoms when doing this as the stands are very light weight.

    The title should read mini - mic stand

    This thing is light, but that is part of the problem. Under the weight of any normal mic this will tip over. I think this mic stand would be usable for small children 4 foot tall and under. Once you extend the boom enough to reach a normal height person, it just falls over. You could possibly figure a way to mount some weights where the center clip goes. You may also try to use these to mic guitar amps. No way you can put these on a stage and use them for vocals.
