Excellent well-built professional level drawing tablet for greater performance and digital painting power
There are some very positive things about the Cintiq 16 and some I feel were overlooked (or intended due to the inexpensive nature of this tablet.)
Pros:
1. I love the feel. The most important thing for me is that paper-like texture and drawing response time which this tablet has in spades. My work requires I spend many hours on a slick plastic surface, and this just wasn't that inspiring. The upgrade to the Cintiq 16 has reinvigorated my process.
2. The size is perfect. Not too small, and definitely large enough I can use more broad strokes to achieve a more energetic approach to drawing.
3. Response time is impressive. No noticeable latency from drawing to manifestation of the line.
4. Higher quality. The best tablet I've ever owned (and I've been a Wacom user since 2003). Very well made, the pro pen 2 feels even more solid (though still feels too light.) The cable finally feels like it's out of the way, and I'm not worried about it bending or breaking (as in the Wacom Cintiq 13HD.)
Cons:
1. No hotkeys: This is a big deal, since I often use the side keys mapped to all kinds of functions in my favorite programs. Though it can be remedied with a keyboard, or the separate Wacom express key device.
2. The external stand is great, though expensive (running around $70-80 online).
Other than that, I would easily recommend this tablet for anyone who is looking for a professional tablet that is a step up from an Intuos or even a smaller Cintiq.
