Before the Huxtables of THE COSBY SHOW and the Banks of THE FRESH PRINCE OF BEL-AIR, there were the Jeffersons. This landmark 1970s sitcom set a precedent with its successful black family led by George Jefferson (Sherman Helmsley) and his wife Louise (Isabel Sanford). This spin-off of Norman Lear's ALL IN THE FAMILY follows George and Louise as they make their fabled move to the Upper East Side. The sixth season was famous for its two-part episode "The Arrival." Interracial couple Lionel (George and Louise's son) and his wife, Jenny, are expecting a new baby, but all George can worry about is what color his grandchild will be. For all its progressive politics, THE JEFFERSONS was most notable for being so consistently hilarious over its 11-year run. This release includes every episode of the sixth season.

Award winning actors/actresses from Broadway, film & TV who made The Cosby Show possible! The true 1st sitcom about a wealthy Black Family!
Sweet, funny, old school, retro HONEST, smartass, cynical, a bit angry yet still humorous comedy about Racism in Society while exposing what its like for some Black Americans who achieve The So-Called American Dream. It also shows how the Black characters attempt to maintain their Afrocentric Identity while they try to TOLERATE the mostly White World that sucess has put them in. Also how White people accidentally, inadvertently can be insensitive and may NEVER fully understand what it means to be Black or Brown skinned in the World, especially in the States that are normally DIVIDED. Excellent, funny, talented cast with HEART & SOUL!!!!!!
