Well worth viewing. Great acting by many.
This movie was an attempt before we got into WWII to alert Americans about the danger posed by Hitler and the Nazi. Fritz Lange the director fled Nazi Germany with but the clothes on his back. He was a Jew and his wife a rabid Nazi. Walter Pigeon is great as is Joan Bennet. Who can forget the scene of Thorndike(Pigeon) parachuting back into Nazi Germany with his hunting rifle. He Didn't Pull The Trigger
This is a phenomenal, WW2, film noir drama. A big game hunter has his sights on Hitler but hesitates and is captured by the Gestapo before he can pull the trigger. The rest of the film is about his escape from Nazi Germany and his pursuit by the Nazis. It's a "what if" kind of a story but is fantastic in the telling. It's pure Fritz Lang and it is a compelling movie with action and intrigue only he can conjure up. I recommend this film for any serious, film fan. Man Hunt should be in the Top Ten Movies of all Time.
Fritz Lang is the director, he was a German native and came to the United States in the early 1930's. Fritz Lang is one of the best directors of all movies. Mr. Lang did NOT like Nazi's. The movie is about a famous big game hunter, who decides to see if it would be possible he could kill Adolf Hitler. No more spoilers . Walter Pidgeon gives a flawless, & brilliant performance. A Classic
A great movie directed by Fritz Lang. A world war 2 tale of a man who attempts to assassinate Hitler. That's just the beginning of this suspenseful drama with a moving subplot involving a down on her luck woman who provides a safe haven for our hero on the run.
