Newton's third law is put to the test in Black, a first-person shooter from the development team behind the acclaimed Burnout franchise. Players are cast in the role of Jack Kelar, member of an elite tactical squad, whose team is assigned to Eastern Europe on a hunt for an American traitor. Rather than slinking through environments making quick, covert strikes, players in Black perform a full-on assault through nine levels of explosive action. A total of 13 cutting-edge weapons are available to eliminate the enemy threat, but the most distinguishing aspect of Black is its physics engine: fully destructible environments allow players the freedom to shoot inanimate targets as well as live ones. Instead of firing at a patrol of soldiers, for example, players can instead target nearby vehicles or barrels to trigger explosions, shoot out windows and balconies, and more. As Kelar blasts through the besieged cities, snow-covered wilderness, and other levels, shell casings, glass, dust, and debris will fly across the screen as plumes of smoke and raging fires dot the war-torn landscapes.Product Identifiers

A brilliant throwback FPS game that still plays quite well today.
One of the best games from 2 generations ago, that's still engaging to play today. Thanks to support from backwards compatibility, it plays very well on the latest Xbox One console. One of the highlights at the time of release is the realistic & unique firing sounds used for each firearm in the game. I'm yet to play a game today that replicates that! The best fps game I've played
As a big fps fan, I'd like to say this is a super great game and I wish I played it sooner. It has ALL the makings to a damn good action packed thriller. Nothing about this game sucks. This is about a "real" as you can get experience, with physical damage to the environment that doesn't fade away same with the baddies they die and stay laying around. On the music, it kicks ass too. Sounded a lot like the "movie drama" Seen that also is in the game Wolfenstine: return to the castle. I love the ww2 Germany settings in around mission 5. Addicting, action packed, looks great, feels better. Once again the best fps ever that I've played, and I've played fps all my life from Doom, Rainbow 6, Gun, and Call of Duty to Wolfinstine, splinter cell, and others. This game tops my list. Yes it's one of the best fps if not the best. Hope you play on a big screen. Thanks to all who wrote contributed and helped make this kick ass experience. Good FPS from the original Xbox

A great title missed back in the day.
I was looking to find some titles to play on an Xbox One I recently bought and looked a title I missed back in the Xbox/PS2 era. As I was looking at great games to get for your Xbox today, I looked up "Black." I have to say it's worth all the money I got it for. Totally a great FPS by Crition Games. Sometimes originals are better

Excellent Game!
