It was a dark and stormy night; Meg Murry, her small brother Charles Wallace, and her mother had come down to the kitchen for a midnight snack when they were upset by the arrival of a most disturbing stranger. "Wild nights are my glory," the unearthly stranger told them. "I just got caught in a downdraft and blown off course. Let me sit down for a moment, and then I'll be on my way. Speaking of ways, by the way, there is such a thing as a tesseract." A tesseract (in case the reader doesn't know) is a wrinkle in time. To tell more would rob the reader of the enjoyment of Miss L'Engle's unusual book.     Replacement for Missing Book

    I have the 5- book boxed set of the Wrinkle in Time series and it was missing the first book! This is the matching edition of that book, thus completing the quintet. Arrived quickly and condition is as stated. My set is complete! Now to re-read them all...

    An age-old theme: Good Vs. Evil

    I bought and read this book on recommendation from a friend, knowing that it was written for the young teenagers back in the 60's. The characters and story were lively, and moved right along. The story follows a common theme: good vs. evil, and also parallels The Wizard of Oz. I did find it interesting that the depiction of 'evil' in this story has every feature of communism, absolute power and control over everything. Read it, I think you'll see the same communist agenda and tactics that are surfacing in US culture, society and politics.

    This is truly a good book. The school required us to have it so my seventh grader read it and she loved it so much.

    Really really good book. It was required by the school for us to purchase this and have my seventh grader read it. She loved it because it’s an amazing great story pot. She couldn’t put it down and wants to read it again.

    Great pre-teen book

    I bought these books for my granddaughters class so each kid could have their own copy to read and not have to share. The books were a good deal, arrived quickly and were in good condition. This book is a good read for 10-13 year olds.

    A True Classic in Children's and Adult Sci-Fi/Fantasy Fiction!

    Despite opening with the most clichéd line in fiction, Madeleine L'Engle has written one of the most not only engaging and exciting works of fiction, but one that is from a quantum physics standpoint, before her time. It is thought provoking as well as entertaining. Adults and children alike can enjoy this well spun tale of the eternal battle of good and evil. Before Harry Potter came on the scene, the Wrinkle in Time books (yes, books, plural) were delighting readers. The difference is, there wasn't social media at the time to help generate the buzz that Harry Potter got. Ler's hope the up=coming film does the book justice and will encourage a new generation to pick up the books to read them for themselves. I know they are what turned my son on to reading.
