Nice music, terrible drama.
I expected a decent docudrama on Verdi's life. What I got was a dubbed over mess, with dialog written by some non talent. The story was so broken up that it could not be followed, and it certainly held my i8nterest not at all! The dialog was stilted and boring. The locations were nice, as were the costumes, but even the musical set pieces were not great. This set went right in the garbage after one viewing. No wonder I never heard of this mediocracy. Ronald Pickup, a fine British actor, who I believe just past away a few months ago, could not have been proud of this production.

good historical showing of a great music composer
The picture quality is not of typical DVD quality. The DVDs did not have captioning for the hard of hearing viewers. This issue was very important for us because my wife is hearing impaired and was not able to enjoy the program. Please let us know if another version of this program is available with english captions. Thank you

Wonderful...depicts the life of this great composer....VERDI.
Beautifully done . I recommend it for anyone who loves the arts, especially opera.

I love it
These DVD's replaced my old tapes version. This is an immensely enjoyable story of a much admired genius of the opera genre music. I'm very happy with the product.
