Synopsis
At fourteen, Liliana Velasquez walked out of her village in Guatemala and headed for the U.S. border, alone. On her two-thousand-mile voyage she was robbed by narcos, rode the boxcars of La Bestia, and encountered death in the Sonoran Desert., Dreams and Nightmares appears in full color in both English and Spanish. Description At fourteen, Liliana Vel squez walked out of her village in Guatemala and headed for the U.S. border, alone. On her two-thousand-mile voyage she was robbed by narcos , rode the boxcars of La Bestia , and encountered death in the Sonoran Desert. When she was caught by Immigration in Arizona, she thought her journey was over. But it had just begun. What People Are Saying While Immigrants' stories are often told by others, Liliana shares her personal experience of vulnerability, resilience and perseverance in the face of uncertainty. She is a strong and remarkable woman. --Mar a Sotomayor, DACA recipient, Youth Organizer, Pennsylvania Immigration and Citizenship Coalition Stories like Liliana's counter the inhumane narratives that cast migrants and refugees as "drug dealers and rapists," and instead offer US audiences a perspective infused with the genuine human experience of migration. --Aja Y. Martinez, PhD, Syracuse University Liliana's story is heartbreakingly ordinary, similar to tens of thousands of children who have fled violence, abuse, and extreme poverty, only to suffer further hardship at the hands of a US government that treats them as threats rather than child survivors of trauma. --Jonathan Blazer, Advocacy and Policy Counsel for Immigrants' Rights, American Civil Liberties Union, Dreams and Nightmares appears in full color in both English and Spanish. Great seller! Excellent communication (very intentional responses)! Fast Shipping! Great value! Excellent deals (buy 2 get 1 FREE)! Good Quality & also Acceptable condition. My only constructive feedback is that the books should be shipped a little safer/more securely. 2 of the 3 books were quite beat-up (one had 2 pages falling off), so, I feel their condition would have benefited from better/safer package (perhaps use a cardboard?). But overall, excellent experience. I recommend this store.

Item as described, rapidly shipped and terrific price (free with the order of two other books!) Packing was a bit meager (unpadded bag that arrived with a sizeable hole in it). But the 3 books arrived undamaged and in good condition, so no harm , no foul. I am very pleased with the purchase and would *definitely* do business again! Great seller! Many thanks!

SUPERSTAR SELLER!!!! Exceptionally fast shipping and great communication by seller via tracking updates about where package was in transit. The book had awesome packing safeguarding the book from shipping related damages. Book was exactly as described, and as the pictures showed. I'll definitely do business here again!
