Virtual guitar gods and goddesses take their acts on the road with Guitar Hero: On Tour, a portable edition of the breakthrough rhythm-based rock & roll game for Nintendo DS. Like its console-rocking forebears, On Tour is played with a special accessory that mimics the feel of a fretboard in the player's hand. The add-on -- not included in this game only release -- snaps into the GBA cartridge slot on the bottom of the DS. The DS is held lengthwise in the palm of the hand, partially encased in the accessory, with the player's fingertips on four colored buttons. In play, the buttons are fingered in time with colored note indicators that scroll forward in the secondary screen, as players strum the touch screen with a special pick. The game offers six different guitarist personalities that players can adopt in "Career Mode," and various "On Tour" mini-game challenges offer head-to-head, pick-up-and-play showdowns with other guitar heroes on the go.

    Great game! Rock out!

    This game is an amazing game for anyone who loves rhythm games and music! This game allows me to play as a guitarist, bassist, singer, or drummer! I can play various roles and the various roles and accessories like the drum skin are fun to use and not too hard on the hands! If you liked Guitar Hero then you'll love Band Hero for the DS where you can take the fun with you everywhere for a great price! You can make and customize your own band to various styles and looks which is a nice touch! The game has a tutorial if you need help and practice. The songs are a pretty good mix of pop, rock, and others but still fun to play! Overall for the money, stuff, game modes, songs, and play I recommend this and give it 5 stars for Band Hero DS!

    Guitar Hero on the Go!

    I’ve always loved the Guitar Hero, Band Hero, and Rock Band games. I especially loved it when they found a way to bring it to a handheld system. The whole idea was/is absolutely genius! The songs take me back to my emo - rocker days, days of my youth…and I get lost in playing the melodies. It’s great to be able to replay all the games I enjoyed so much in my early to mid 20‘s. I just wish they had continued past Modern Hits.

    Would buy again

    Both games are very fun, you have to buy the guitar button attachment separately in order for the game to work, but all together it cost me about $11. Good deal, definitely recommend.
