SPIRIT: STALLION OF THE CIMARRON is a refreshingly old-fashioned and gentle tale of a mustang stallion struggling to remain free in the old West. The film is a seamless blend of traditional hand-drawn and computer-generated animation. Opening with an impressive bird's eye pan of the Grand Canyon, from the viewpoint of an eagle, SPIRIT captures the unspoiled beauty of the land. The animals in this particular animated film do not talk, and Matt Damon provides effective, sparse narration from the perspective of Spirit, an adventurous young stallion who is captured by the U.S. Army. But Spirit will not let the soldiers saddle and ride him. An authoritarian colonel (voiced by James Cromwell) is determined to break Spirit, at one point starving the horse to weaken him. A Lakota prisoner, Little Creek (voiced by Daniel Studi) is impressed with the horse, and helps him to escape. Little Creek can't break the horse either. But the two learn to respect each other, and Spirit meets Rain, Little Creek's horse, and falls in love. The score was written by Hans Zimmer, and Bryan Adams wrote and performed the sweet, simple songs on the soundtrack. SPIRIT is a great-looking and lovingly crafted children's film.

    Delivery was very fast by normal comparison for this seller to others, but I can only rate the seller's prices, quality, and integrity in truth, as the item is still waiting my viewing.....reviews suggest it will be good entertainment, but the issue is how well the dvd aligned with the seller's listing. It was all about accuracy in advertising, value for the money spent, very good condition of the dvd and a quality experience all the way around.

    Good movie

    We love this movie I’ve had in 24 hours and my three-year-old has watched it six times! Lol I enjoyed the Native American mustang and the Native American heritage that it presents

    It’s a good movie.

    I never watched the film at its time, but I always wanted a copy when I saw it online. I even think it’s better than the Netflix series since they made this film look way too feminine later on, nor do I like the new cover art.

    Spirit...Yes! Road to El Dorado...No!

    "Road to El Dorado" really isn't for children! Some very terrible subject matter from human sacrificing, demon powers to sexual encounters...whereas "Spirit" was a real delight on several levels...scenery, action, humor, music and of course lots of horses, everything done so well!

    Gift for a horse lover

    My grandson loves horses but lives in the city. Got him this movie and he has watched it 10 times already. It is so well done. Looks at the world from a horse's point of view. Great family movie!

    Engaging story with action and kid-appropriate emotions.

    My two grandSONS, 4 1/2 & 6 !/2 love this movie. Moves along quickly, dialogue is simple and clear. They especially like the facial expressions of the people AND of the horse(s).
