Laney and Eric
I have read all the other books in this series. The Chance is about a mechanic and a FBI agent who fall for each other. Lainey and Eric love each other at first sight. Eric is so very proud of his daughter, Eva, who is also Gina's daughter. Lainey left Boston, her hometown , after she and her Father had a terrible fight. He never wanted her to be in the FBI. Her mother supported her in all her endeavors plus her career in the FBI. When she died Lainey could not be around her Father so she went to Thunder Point for a vacation. (She had been undercover in a commune to rescue women and children and investigate other activities going on. She was shot by the leader but managed to rescue Mercy after being kidnapped.). All this happened before she returned to Thunder Point for a vacation. That's when she and Eric met. They took a chance and found unconditional love. Lainey's Father came to see her and she discovered he was in a stage of Alheimers. She took him back to Boston where her twin brother and family lived. He began getting treatment and tests.
