Civil War Songs: Mormon Choir
I bought this CD specifically for "Battle Hymn of the republic, Dixie and Beautiful Dreamer". Unfortunately, Battle Hymn ad Beautiful Dreamer were not the orchestrated and great Eugene Ormandy versions I love. Only Organ accompaniments versions were on this CD. The versions I loved were on the "Greatest Hits" Mormon Choir LP's which are not (but should be) on CD's. Steven Foster music should have an Orchestra behind it. Any way I found Battle Hymn with Mr. Ormandy on another CD which did not even have my favorites on it. So, I will have to find "Beautiful Dreamer" with orchestra (Philadelphia of course!_) accompaniment. The jewel cases were a mess! They were cracked and "taped" together requiring a trip to the used CD store.
