Great shorts and an ok blur-ray
This is a nice collection of Superman's first theatrical shorts, which along with their place within the history of animation the character of superman still hold value as entertainment. They are excellent example of style and spectacle using the principals of 40's animation to really give some oomph to the action, they are however a bit light on story but that's understandable given how early these were made in the character's lifespan and usually being less than 10 minutes. I should specify that these praises are specifically towards the shorts produced while the Fleischer's were involved, while the ones produced afterwards are a bit of a downgrade.
The Blu-ray itself is nice and comes with bonus features on the historical value of these shorts, that I assume are from previous releases. The only downside is that the video quality suffers a bit due to some DNR making the picture softer, which hurts characters like lois by smoothing out her features a bit too much. The DNR is the only reason that this didn't get the full 5 stars, but it's far from unwatchable so I would still recommend it to those who aren't perfectionists.
