Kanani is a collector's dream!
Lovely Kanani is not a doll for a little four-year old. She is an American Girl collector's dream, and I want to set straight all the reviews I've read that downvote her hair. Kanani's hair is fabulous! American Girl pulled out all the stops and used one of the custom Moniques, almost identical to the ones that My Twinn used on their "hair queens." It is ginger brown, thick, and luxuriant. It looks like human hair. Because it isn't silky-straight like Julie's, one does have to be gentle with it--you can't yank a comb through it, let her locks get matted, take her to the beach (unless you're an adult doing a photo shoot), or-- horrors--drag her around by her hair. Treasure Kanani and love her. She is sweet to hold and a delight to play with---I use an American Girl brush to gently style her tresses, starting at the bottom and gently curling her hair around my fingers. Her sweet face, with the rare "Jess" mold, makes her unique and dreamy. Her dress is beautifully made. She has a stunning necklace and bracelet, and those little sandals are cute, but I live in Northern Illinois and it was chilly the day she arrived, so I put leggings, a jean jacket, and a pair of American Girl purple lace-up boots--the ones that look sort of like little-girl Doc Martens--on her straightaway .(Oh, my, do they ever go with her dress!) Kanani is sure to become--if not already--one of the most sought-after American Girl of the Year dolls ever made, and I have dreamed of having her for a long time. I will say that her little flower is stubborn about staying in those thick locks, but we make it work. Kanani is sturdily made with a string-tie attaching her neck, and she stands well. Her vinyl is beautiful - darker than the average AG, but not as dark as this year's Lea's. Her hazel eyes are beautiful. Everything about this doll is top-rate, and I am in thrall. She is worth twice what I paid for her--a wonderful value, and I will treasure her always.

Great Value
She was in excellent used condition. No marks on body or limbs and hair was in very good condition. Price was VERY reasonable. Great purchase!
