Good value but lacking a piece of clear plastic!
These bathroom scales were bought on the longstanding name of "Salter". They are compact, good value and accurate when calibrated against other scales. However, their one main weakness is that the dial has small digits (see photo) and is difficult to read if you're taller than 1metre! A small piece of clear plastic, costing just a few pence, to form a magnifying lens would make so much difference. Hence, only 3 stars rating instead of 5.

Spend more money on an accurate weighing scale.
I chose Salter because they used to have a good reputation for mechanical scales.These scales do not go back to zero when you step off after weighing , I am constantly having to put it to zero before each weigh. That suggests the weight is not accurate which makes it rather pointless. They may of course settle in with use but at present they have been a waste of money.

Sturdy and compact
Sturdy, well made bathroom scales. Needed a fairly compact product for a small shower room, but probably should have gone for one with a larger display dial as it is difficult to read.

Quality lacking
I was quite disappointed with this product considering the respected brand name. It has a cheap feel, the display is minute and difficult to see. The dial needs to be adjusted every time it is used which turns what should be a quick process into a frustrating few minutes.

Scales
Salter have always been good quality and reliable which these are. The only drawback is that the numbering is very small and not easy to read. When standing on them I have to wear my specs and stoop down to read the result which makes it awkward

Nice scales, dial could be bigger!
Nice scales, very sturdy and well made. The only downside is that the numerals on the dial aren't very big and its quite hard to see them looking down at them when your actually standing on the scales.

Salter scale
It does work but the dial has been on the same no since bought to who uses it and my granddaughter is a long lighter than me unless there is any thing I haven’t taken of under neath but salter are normally great scales

Too smaller numbers
It's a very well made product but the only problem I had with it was when I stood on it to weigh myself I couldn't read the dial so i had to purchase another one with larger numbers that I could see

It’s ok but have to reset dial every time
